Today and Always

Hello, everyone!  I’m Olga and I am both thrilled and honored to have been invited by Donna Maligno to be a guest designer for this month at Craft-Dee BowZ. The theme for June being "wedding", I'm excited to share my card project with you.

A little about me…..I started handcrafting cards after taking early retirement almost 8 years ago. It all began when my talented sister-in-law talked me into buying some supplies to get me started. Well, in a very short time I fell in love with this beautiful craft and have been enjoying it ever since. You can view my work on my blog here.

To me, there is something about weddings that calls for elegance. Maybe it’s the gorgeous attire of the bride and her bridal party or the beautifully decorated wedding reception halls. Traditional colors of ivory or white, accents of gold, and pearls and bows immediately come to mind. So, here is the card I created for June’s wedding theme. I do hope you like it.

I started with GKD (Gina K Designs) Pure Luxury Ivory card stock for my base. I cut a layer in ivory using a Sue Wilson’s Spanish Collection – Granada die and outlined the edges with a Sakura Gelly Roll gold pen. This layer was then adhered to my base card. Next, I cut another layer in wedding designer paper using a die from Sue Wilson’s Spanish Collection – Seville set and layered it over the ivory layer.

A Poppy Stamp Claudette Oval Frame die was used to create my frame which was then stamped with a sentiment from GKD Elegant Florals stamp set using Versamark ink. The sentiment was then embossed with gold EP and adhered to my prepared base card using dimensionals.

In my final steps I attached a pearl spray "branch" to my card, created my double loop bow (using my Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker) in ivory satin, attached a lace butterfly and added a pearl to its center. This completed my project.

I hope you enjoyed this post and have been inspired to create a wedding card. You just never know when an invitation may arrive requesting your presence at another beautiful wedding!

Beautiful Bride!

If you're following Craft-Dee BowZ you know that there are four Design Team members and we each have our own week to display something we've made for you. The fourth Tuesday of each month is my day to post a card to, hopefully, inspire you to join our challenge. Now the bad news is...when you see my post, that means the end of the month is near and you need to get busy and get your card posted to Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog if you want to participate in the monthly challenge!

The challenge this month on Craft-Dee BowZ is ANYTHING GOES WITH A HANDMADE BOW.  Not difficult, right?  Well, we're a bit overachieving, as Design Team members often are, and we challenged ourselves a bit farther and this month we attempted, and succeeded, at making our cards white, cream, silver or gold, with the topic of wedding since June is known as the month for brides. Your card doesn't have a follow a challenge except that it needs to have a HANDMADE BOW.

When you look at my card below, be ready for one of the prettiest satin bows you've ever seen. This card is 6"x6", so you can see this bow is no slouch....it's a nice size bow, very soft and because it's satin, it's got a beautiful shine to it. It also tied perfect the first time using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool. If you'd like to see how I made this double looped bow, here's the video.

I used this bride image by Rubbernecker and I stamped it with Versamark on heavy vellum and then embossed it with Sweet Stamps Medieval Metals embossing powder. I thought the soft brushed gold look of this embossing powder was absolutely perfect with my background paper from Wild Rose and the brushed gold solid paper also used. The image has two overlays; one for her hair and one for her bouquet...and I stamped, embossed and then colored on the back of the vellum, cut them out and overlayed them on my image. The cream paper behind the vellum is die cut with the Stitched Rectangle die by Memory Box. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and that gorgeous lace is from my stash. Below is a close-up photo so you can see the stamp and overlays even better.  Isn't she a beautiful bride?!

You're thinking: is this really Gail's card?  I mean, there's no little girl or little boy image, there's no extra flowers, and where are the pearls and rhinestones?! I tried for 'elegance' with this image. It's not easy to do when you're a bling type of person. This is the closest to CAS I've ever gotten, and CAS people are thinking: this isn't CAS. Right?  But, it is for me and I hope you like it and the bow has knocked your socks off!

Here at Craft-Dee BowZ we will be having a guest designer, Olga Moore. She will be visiting us on Friday, June 26 with a post. Please take a few minutes and visit her blog, here and check out her beautiful creations..

You've got a few more days to get your card posted to our challenge blog at Craft-Dee BowZ and I hope you'll join us in our July challenge of ANYTHING GOES WITH A HANDMADE BOW!

                                                                               Hugs,
                                                                        Gail

A wedding card

Hi all
It is Tracey here with my post for this month. The Dt are featuring wedding projects this month so i have made this silver and white themed wedding card .I used silver mirri card and white hammered card throughout the design.I also added some silver embossed acetate from Hunkydory over the front to give more detail. The flowers are pre made and are from wild orchid. The cute wedding rings  and flourishes are cut from  memory box dies. The sentiment and rose are embossed with silver wow powder and are a stamp set from visible image. The inside of the card has been decorated toousing the same acetate. The large heart aperture and silver heart frame around it in the centre was created using sizzix dies. The heart shape that swings in the middle has been made using cheery lynn dies.
I used my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ Bow maker to make the delicate organza bow.I use this handy ,portable ,easy to use tool every time i need a bow.

June Blog Hop

Welcome Everyone!!

It's time for our bi-monthly blog hop. June has traditionally been thought of as the month for weddings so all of the designers are showcasing their projects with that theme in mind. At weddings/receptions you will traditionally see flowers, lace, beautiful colors, gifts, bows, cards and oh so much more.  So for this theme there is a lot to work with to spark the creative muse. And of course we will be showcasing the bow. All of the bows have been made with the Craft-Dee BowZ tool. And that's because it makes bow making easy

PRIZES
What would a blog hop be without a prize. The prize to be awarded from Craft-Dee BowZ is one 25' reel of ribbon. I love ribbon and you probably do too. Ribbon is a great accent on cards, perfect for gift wrapping and other projects that we all seem to love to do.

To be in the running to win this yummy ribbon, all we ask you to do,is to leave a comment on each of the designers blog. If you leave a comment on each designers blog your name will be placed in a hopper and one name will be pulled on Monday June 15. You could be the June winner!!

Wedding "Congratulations"!

Vicki here...I'm up today on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog with my June "Wedding" themed inspiration!

Wedding cards are always fun to create and June is the month for wedding events!  We just went to a wedding two weeks ago and have another to attend at the end of June.

The Design Team is posting fabulous inspiration all month long including the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog Hop coming up on June 11th.  Check back on Thursday and play along with us.

Here's my shiny, shimmery, twirly, swirly inspiration!

"Congratulations"

I used the Sizzix Lacy Card Front along with the Heartfelt Creations Decorative Oval Window to continue the swirl design throughout the card. The sentiment is stamped and embossed with silver embossing powder.

In this side view, you can see the shiny, shimmer of the background glitter paper.  I also used it for the Decorative Window mat of the sentiment.

The sheer ribbon I used for this bow is one of my favorite to work with.  It has a beautiful shimmer and works best with multi loop, fuller bows.  My Craft-Dee BowZ Bow Making Tool helps me create fabulous bows all the time....single loop and multi loop.   I added a wedding bell charm and a few mulberry roses to complete the card.

Always and Forever

Hi Everyone,
Barbara here with my post this month. June usually brings brides and weddings to mind, so this is the theme we are going to be showing all month. What a wonderfully beautiful theme.

Before I share my card let me give you an update on what will be going on here at Craft-Dee BowZ this month.

Along with our talented designers posts this month in their regular time slots, we are also having a blog hop and we are carrying the wedding theme over to the hop as well. The blog hop starts June 11 at 10:00 p.m. and will run thru June 14. We would love for you to join us and when you leave a comment you will be eligible for our blog hop prize. The prize will be awarded on Monday June 15.

Also this month, we will be having a guest designer, Olga Moore. She will be visiting us on Friday June 26 with a post. Please take a few minutes and visit her blog, here and check out her beautiful creations..  Olga is definitely a talented designer, and when you view her blog I'm sure you will agree.

I think you will agree we have a busy month in store for you.

All right, let me share my card design. I started out with something totally different and switched gears, So this is what I decided upon instead.

Sentiment

The Bow

Hearts

The designer paper is what steered me to make this card and it also helped me with the colors I chose. Celery green is the color of that swirly heart and I also used a shimmer ivory. Hand crocheted lace and that ivory satin ribbon were the perfect addition. The sentiment I chose, says it all.

Hope you have a great week
